Frequently asked questions

What is ELO?

In sports, the ELO-rating system is used to rank players or teams. As we go head-to-head, it adjusts the team scores based on difficulty (i.e. it is harder to win against Tocchet's than it is against George Jr.).

This video explains it further.

So you are less accurate than a coin flip?

No, because coin flips cannot predict ties, which the pool has a lot of. To show the value of the ELO, we have patented the Coin Flip® method, as a comparative benchmark.

Is it witchcraft?

Absolutely not. ELO predictions are based on rigorously tested, scientific processes. It is a highly respected field, similar to alchemy or astrology.

How does your coin flip® work? I've never seen a tie for an actual coin flip

It's a thick coin that sometimes lands on its side.

How accurate is it?

Typically 45-70%, improving throughout the season.

Did George Szabo ever understand ELO?

No.
